I have been super busy and thus, my blog suffers! So, here's an update about the last couple weeks of activities. FIrst, as you probably know, I didn't win the BluDomain contest. Boo-Hoo! I had such fun doing it though! I don't participate in many contests, but when I do, it always sparks some creativity and sets a fire under my butt to execute my creative ideas that have been quietly waiting in my sketchbook. I particularly liked the theme my shots started evolving into... a soda personification sort of storyline. It was a wonderful coincidence that Dave Nitsche commented on the photos. His conceptual photography is unmatched in my opinion. I was able to connect with him and plan on taking a class with him at PPSOP, my alma mater. I'm really excited to learn from such a brilliant mind. Go check out his stuff here.
Just as the contest was ending, I headed over to Odetah to go camping with my brother, my niece and some friends. And of course, my lil' guy came along too! This place was crazy cool, if you are into camping even just a little bit, you have to check them out. I am used to roughing it when I go camping, so this place was like a resort to me. Pool, hot tub, playgrounds, mini-golf... totally fun and totally awesome for kids.
And finally, Google has been crawling my little shop Castle Curiosities like crazy and sent my rankings way up in a bunch of search categories. I've been keeping myself busy updating the product shots, adding more items, and adding things like descriptions... I've been taking my time getting the store the way I want it, but I suppose all the new customers have given me some new found motivation! Here's a sampling of what's new...
New Kitsch magnets, many more to come!!
An entire new category for rockabilly magnets! This little section will be expanding soon too, stay tuned! There's also a new category for Graphic Gift Tags, you'll remember some of them from my fine art portfolio, and I added more to the Texty Gift Tags as well. Go check them out at Castle Curiosities. Holiday season is right around the corner and you're going to need gift tags, so instead of the same old sticky ones, go for something a bit more interesting! A big extra note by the way, any of the gift tags can be customized to the way you like it. If you want blue ink on pink paper, then so be it! Contact me before ordering, there's no extra charge. Isn't that nice? :) I'll be adding Holiday specific tags early November, so bookmark the shop and check back often!
Happy Shopping! Meredith
